West Zealand has child-friendly sandy beaches, surfing beaches and nice waters for yachting and fishing. The Viking ring fortress, Trelleborg is situated in Slagelse, which is one of the well-preserved fortresses of Viking Age. Reersø is a peninsula with a small fishing harbour and leisure boats. You can take a 9 km long bicycle tour on the peninsula and experience the nature reserve with many rare animals and plants. The peninsula Reersø is particularly known for its tailless cats, which are found only here.
