This is how holiday rental owners described Tignale

Tignale is made up of six small villages, each built closely around a church and enriched by interesting medieval buildings. The little lanes are charming, connected by "ladrùne" (covered walkways between houses). The churches in all the villages contain works of historic and artistic interest.

PIOVERE: this is the first ...

village you pass driving up from the lakeside. It's sunny position offers visitors an enchanting historical centre, beautiful panoramic viewpoints and the Church of San Marco. There are several footpaths where you can walk or go mountain biking from here. We recommend the panoramic and easy walk called "Bassa Via del Garda" (the lower Garda way) that links Piovere to the village of Muslone, hamlet of Gargnano.
OLDESIO: coming up from the lake you drive through Oldesio on the way to the main village Gardola. Surrounded by olive trees, this pleasant village with its lanes, the little Church of San Rocco and the old washing-through, is witness to the way of life of past centuries. From Oldesio there is a beautiful footpath linking the plateau of Tignale to the lakeside, arriving at the harbour of Tignale (quite a difficult walk). You can reach easily the centre of Gardola, passing the village, you will reach the church S.Maria Assunta in about half an hour walk.
GARDOLA and OLZANO: the main village of Tignale, with its town hall and services (chemists, doctor's surgery, dentist's surgery, bank and shops). To visit: Oilpress di Tignale, Church S.Maria Assunta and the Church S.Pietro. Various possibilities to make excursions, one of them is to walk to the Santuary of Montecastello (nr.266).
AER: easy to reach from Gardola (a pleasant walk, recommended particularly for older people and children). Near the little Church of S.Bernardo, you can see an old stone press once used for grinding olives. From Aer, you can walk to Piovere along the "sentiero del sole" (sunny footpath). On the way you pass an attractive waterfall. Nr.265 2nd part.
PRABIONE: the Park Museum is in Prabione, along with the public open-air swimming pool, the little Church of S.Zenone and the old distillery of the Bettanini family, renowned for the production of the famous grappa "Rugiada delle Alpi" (Alpine dew) named by the Italian poet Gabriele D' Annunzio. From Prabione you can walk down to Campione (village in the comune of Tremosine situated on the lake)by footpath nr. 266.
